This set of gavels was made for the Millennium Lodge of Mark Master Masons
No.1822, meeting in Northfield, Birmingham (UK).
They are made of sapele and maple with matching sounding blocks.
The striking knobs on the blocks are set right into the surrounding wood
and you can hit them as hard as you like.|
Similar ones can be made from a variety of timbers. An oak and maple lamination looks very good, for example.
